If I could breath, I would vomit
I so adored Pushing Daisies's season premiere. Ned and Chuck stripping to their underwear, pero hanggang tingin lang. Sad. :C

I had a ballet photo shoot, for a friend's photojourn class. Their theme is "action shots". Which meant that I had to jump around and do turns all around the studio. Which I did for about an hour. Then Shantinn [info]rhtymc_gypsy, Jhoelle and I went to Yellow Cab and finished an 18-inch pepperoni and mushroom pizza. lol. I thought we wouldn't be able to finish it, but we did. I still can't figure out how we finished that pizza in forty-five minutes. And four big slices didn't make my stomach full. Weird.

Wait, I'm supposed to be studying for my final exam in Pol Sci. Why the hell am I still online?!

Of Poetry

It's been a long time since I've been inspired enough to write poetry. This poem was composed yesterday night, and will be given to this guy today. It's written on parchment paper, on a watermarked card, placed inside a creme envelope, sealed with wax with my monogram on it. I think this could actually be getting somewhere. =)

To I____o

Long hands, short hands, race together,
Minutes, hours, it's taking forever!
Around a circle, along they go;
Can't wait to see you to say, "Hello."

Trying hard to remember the shape of your face,
Searching my mind in vain for a trace,
Of those chinky eyes, so hazel brown,
And those lips that could never wear a frown.

When we then decide to hang up the phone;
Without your voice, again I'm alone.
Quickly to bed, I sound my retreat,
To dreamland where we could finally meet!

We're mere slaves of Time, our undoubted master.
Days crawl along, I wish they could go faster.
How I long to see you on a pleasant sunny day,
So I could hold your hand, and let the world fade away.

:D SS501 fanart for my BFFL Nessss~ and other stuff~

LOL.  I was testing if I can still draw realistic stuff, and I guess I'm kinda rusty (or my eye is, at least--I think I'm having trouble recognizing different shades of gray... or was it the poor lighting in my room?)

Anyway here are two (of five)~~

I'll be scanning them once I get the entire set done~ Currently working on Kyujong (who is harder than I thought) and will probably done by Monday~ I started 2 AM yesterday.

For my number one (and only, lol) fan, Nes~~♥

Baby and Otter under the cut!! )

Kyaaaa.

Anyway, RL stuff~ still busy with the thesis stuff.  And I actually have insomnia atm!  I have difficulty sleeping (I'm sleeping at around 6 am recently).  Agh.  Tried every trick in the book--except drinking warm milk.  Because that's yech.

And MELAMINE, omg.  I really love Chinese food products, all the fuss about the chemicals is making me sad.  Junie mentioned that my favorite White Rabbit milk candy (which has been long banned here) has tested positive for melamine too, aside from the formaldehyde.  He asked if I'm going to eat them again, and I said, why not?  I really love those candies, melamine or not.  Mao Zedong loved it too, and look where those got his teeth!  LOL!

And just in case--melamine in small amounts ingested by adults won't be as dangerous as it is to babies >__> let's stop being all accusing at China.  Instant noodles and cigarettes are as bad as those tainted milk, you hypocrites.  Yili for the win! LOL

My upper lip is swollen D: I don't have any allergies (at least I'd like to think so) but the last thing I ate since it got all swollen were shrimps.  And my throat kinda hurts too.  OMG.  what is this mystery food I'm allergic to? D: D: D:

Thank you, Captain Apollo for saving our collective asses
I'm watching Battlestar Galactica's miniseries and I'm amazed at how everyone looked so young here, but at the same not look as hot as they are right now. (I mean, my gods, Starbuck's man hair is scary... And Roslin's hair is awful. Well, actually, everyone's hair is awful. OMGs!) And it's quite disconcerting for me to hear "Commander Adama" as compared to "Admiral Adama". Hee, Resurrection Ship Part 2, you're something to look forward to.

And lol about the fact that in the miniseries, Gaeta's the only one qualified to plot FTL jumps. And FTL jumps are like, supposed to complicated and even a degree off can land someone in the middle of the sun (I'm loosely paraphrasing Col. Tigh here) And now, in season 4, even a nugget like Sam Anders can plot 5-10 FTL jumps in one sitting (The Road Less Travelled, anyone? lolz.)

OMG! HAI BILLY! YOU'RE STILL ALIVE! and other random musings )

Hayyy. The miniseries makes me want to re-read [info]gidget_zb's The Price of Supremacy. It's an AR fic, the start of a series of fics.

But I'm supposed to be in thesis mode. So, I'll probably do that during the semestral break. lolz.

But yay about BSG on C/S! I'm going to survive the hiatus! Wheee!

Your USB flash drive is bigger than my hard drive

If ever you're one of those people who owns a 4GB, 8GB, and/or 16GB flash drive, well good news for you. Your flash drive is bigger than my hard drive. XD

I seriously need to buy an external hard drive. A 30GB hard drive is not advisable for someone in the media industry. Imagine the tons of photos I have from my Photojournalism class and the videos and music I have to use for my broadcasting class.

Buying an external hard drive isn't exactly the problem, my USB port is. I only have one port, and it's not hi-speed. O_O

Blame it on the nonstop downpour of rain because I can't even think of another reason why.

Just the other night, it was the first time a guy confessed to me. Weird. I turned him down though, right on the spot.

quick musing about my health
I went to the school doctor yesterday to get a medical certificate (I got slight fever last Monday...). She thought I might have hyperthyroidism because my heartbeat was fast (I forgot to tell her that I slept at 4 AM the night/morning before). I just checked out the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. I may have a large appetite, but I've maintained my weight of 115 llbs for about two years now, so no rapid weight loss symptom for me (well, actually, no hyperthyroidism. I'm like, scaring myself again. -_-)

I also checked if I have insomnia (I tried to sleep at 12 AM last night, but I fell asleep around 2 AM), and I may have that transient insomnia, either from stress or dehydration. I'm guessing both, and since I can't get rid of stress unless the semester's over... or when our thesis is finished, bound and out of our hands, I'm going to make sure I drink eight to ten glasses of water starting tomorrow (or later... it's 2 AM now... -_-)

Augh, my head sorta kinda hurts.

Sir Mariano “Ric” Gonzalo.

I met him in 2005 when we attended the Cordillera Day in Kalinga, Apayao. Since Cordi Day is the celebration of he the rich culture of different indigenous people in the country, every province, region or tribe is required to showcase its own culture; all the delegates from our region were brainstorming for a unique presentation. Someone came up with a bright idea of composing a poem; then recite it while the rest of us will do interpretative movements. The poem was done in an hour and the movers kept pace. Another group came up with a short poem on fisher folks and gladly Danny Fabella, renowned composer, laid on a melody to it.

While everyone was busy, an elder recommended Sir Ric to choreograph our movements since he was known to be a cultural artist and is a member of the Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP). And so we invited him. It was not easy to work with a professional like him. I recall that he was infuriatingly strict that we start from the top the moment one of us commit a mistake. What appends the anxiety is the time limit. We had to perfect the presentation hours before the cultural night. But after hearing tongue-lashing comments, countless 1-2-3 mantra, we finally performed the 10 minute presentation where we left the audience in full awe. (Haha! )

From then on, Sir Ric became the instantaneous speaker for our theatre arts discussion on our annual journalism training. He was not the regular speaker. He insisted on coming along with us the day before the activity and helped us revamp the uninviting stage before the actual day of the event. He choreographed our cultural presentation which took almost 2 hours to perfect and clapped his hands after our 5 minute production. He stayed from day one until the assessment period; he even came along to our swimming revelry.

Sir Ric loves to tell stories of his past. Now a 52 year old self-confessed gay who understands that he can no longer find the partner he wanted to have at this age. He is a cultural organizer, trainer and performer back in his younger years. He has a son but failed to become a father.

We haven’t talked to him thereafter. Not until some of our friends decided to visit him to check on his condition. We have received text messages that he was confined and is suffering from severe illness the past weeks. I remember that he once told us that he has some health problems including kidney troubles.

Last Wednesday, our friends, went to an old barung-barong situated at the slum area of the city where he lived alone. True enough, after 3 years, Sir Ric is now suffering from renal failure secondary to diabetes. He is also starting to lose his sight as another complication of DM. Sir Ric, like millions of people suffering from diseases, cannot afford the hospital bills. He cannot produce at least Php 15,000 per week to undergo dialysis. He complains on how hard it is to get up from bed, of his heavy breathing and stridors, of his edematous feet and bed sores. He does not have the means to buy all the required medicines for him to at least impede the developing complications. And he believes that it’ll not be long enough and soon he’ll pass away.

It’s saddening to see someone lose hope. Its tough to hear someone wait for the last days of his life and it’s tougher to give words of assurance because you, yourself is not certain if he’ll still be fine. It’s heart-breaking to know that you cannot do anything but give him hope and smile as he shares the untold stories of his past.

Now, he temporarily lives with us in our boarding house. At least there’ll be someone to look after him. There’ll be us to listen to his unfinished dreams and plans, of the struggle that he believed in, of the plays, musicals and stage he once owned.

* Please find time to know more about him. Just got to this link http://www.bulatlat.com/news/6-9/6-9-gonzalo.htm Anyone who is willing to help him out in any way, please email me. Thanks.#
